Sample Conference Burb

Like to be less stressed and perform with more zest? Give yourself a right brain break in your left brain day. Learn to juggle in slow motion. Experience a light and uplifting object lesson in life balance, concentration and relaxation. Discover that your ability to catch on... depends on your willingness to let go... of old self-limiting definitions. Three colorful, slow-moving scarves make a great tension buster and confidence builder- tangibly reinforcing the payoffs for persistence, teamwork and imagination. In short, a fresh, fun way to recharge your creative battery, stay loose- and defy gravity!

Participants leave with a set of three scarves, a working understanding of Multiple Intelligences Theory- as it relates to adult learning styles and how to more effectively collaborate by playing to people's strengths- and a common sense approach to enhancing inter-departmental communication by reframing the question "how smart are you?" to "how are you smart?"

Primary appeal:
* Innovative modality-definitely outside the briefcase!

  1. 'equal opportunity enjoyer' (appeals to all ages, genders, ethnicities etc.)
  2. versatile metaphor (can be adapted to almost any job description)
  3. simultaneously centering and energizing ("zen aerobics")
  4. object lesson in team building (via tolerance for drops and creative problem solving)

Core content:
* Thought provoking juxtapositions of:

  1. applicable cognitive research on adult learning principles and interactive exercises
  2. bolder ideas and broader perspectives- less self doubt and more flexible thinking
  3. retaining vs retraining key personnel by decreasing burnout and increasing collaboration
  4. timely visuals and humorous stories (linking the 3 T's:Teamwork, Tolerance & Tenacity)

Immediate Results:
* full body whole-brain workout

  1. reduced stress (raised morale helps people laugh more readily and learn more rapidly)
  2. sharper focus ("mental adrenalin" heightens and improves faculties of concentration)
  3. increased willingness to take prudent risks (knowing that if fail can pick up and move on)
  4. better hand-eye coordination (concrete reminder that "old dogs can learn new tricks")

Please note: the above typically runs 90 minutes but can be adapted to a half or full day seminar. (Fee includes one take home set of 3 neon-colored juggling scarves per participant)
